At the movies

Mmm, seasoned lard!

Yep, gross is the word! Popcorn isn't something I eat much anymore but if I do it will be cooked at home with a tablespoon of oil on the bottom of the pot and real butter and salt!

I would rather have the stuff from the theater. I don't do the butter though - that is the gross part in my opinion.

Guess we're all different.

Lard? Wow. Not very vegetarian, kosher or halal friendly!

Because the amount of butter they use adds a ton of fat and extra calories. I can add some butter after still get good flavor.

I watch calories, juliannaergrl, because I have a real tendency to gain weight. But many Type 1's don't worry about fat and many actually eat a low carb/high fat diet. That's why I asked.

That's a great idea, it's alot more difficult for me to limit myself to a small portion of popcorn when the rest of the bag is just sitting in my lap. I usually just nibble from my DH or DK's bag of popcorn when I go.

I made a lifestyle change when I got diabetes and cut back on the treats that I used to overindulge in. One thing I realised over time is that I am perfectly satisfied with a couple bites of cake vs the big piece everyone else is having.
