I feel my best whenever my BS is stable (a flat line on my CGM) for an extended period of time between 110 and 150. When I'm between 90 and 110 I usually feel good too, but I sometimes get low BS symptoms.
I feel my worst whenever my BS is between 180 and 210 -- for some reason I get more pronounced high BS symptoms in this range than I do when I'm over 210, I'm not really sure why. I also feel my worst when I'm below 70, and when I'm on a very sharp downward trend.
I’m usually pretty good between 70 and 90. I ALWAYS feel low at 120 for some reason, and 160 makes me feel high now… still getting used to my pump though, so i imagine that has a lot to do with it.
I keep extremely tight control on my sugar levels, so anytime I’m not between 90 and 100 I feel weird. I usually feel my worst, though, when I’m coming up from a low. I get so sick coming up and will even start to blackout. Is that completely random?
Wow Tammi, how do you manage to keep your control so tight? I would love to do so as well! I don’t ever get close to blackout after a low, but I do feel like a truck ran me down. I feel SOOOO lethargic that I can’t function!
I feel best and most productive @ about 80 - 110… I start to feel sleepy over 170 (which is usually the peak after a meal (1 hour)). However, I really feel like crap @ 180+… Sometimes I have to get on my Total Gym so I don’t have to take more insulin.
I don’t seem to have a “perfect range” the way some of you do; or perhaps I just haven’t become aware of that yet. I don’t know I’m high unless I test, and don’t really notice any different feelings until I’m up around 200 and then it’s just fatigue-pretty subtle. I was trained to only treat lows under 60 and sometimes I sense these, and sometimes I just find out by testing. The other day I felt bad and I was 65, that’s unusual for me. Generally if I start to feel symptoms (fine tremor, mild headache, fatigue, spaciness) I am in the 50s.
I like being at 90-110. Under 90 I feel OK, but have that little worry in my mind that i could go low soon. I don’t feel like myself over like 145…I start to have to pee a lot and get thirsty even when I’m just at 150. Last week I was spking to 300 ish when I was sick and I felt like absolute C-R-A-P. 200’s I feel horrible too.
Some of my favorite numbers areL
111 (my fave # is 11) so i love this one
99 Love the way this looks, and it’s a good number to be at
117- what I call a perfect post-meal number
I disklike:
120–For some reason I never feel with it at this number…and ONLY when it’s exactly 120 ( I know probably all psychological!)
~80-110
130-150 and I’m ravenous, the erroneous feeling that I need to eat really messes me up especially since the craving is for something like a candy bar.
150-180 I feel OK again.
>180 and I feel sick and my vision gets blurry
<80 depends, sometimes I feel fine, sometimes I feel funny and can’t bother to function.
I notice I feel more energetic and clearer int he 90 and low 100. I haven’t been going above 140 but when I did it was with something that had caffefine in it so I jumpy from the caffefine but not sure if it was the higher BG. But I usually wake up in the 70’s most of the time and I sometimes feel Ok and sometimes tired but that might be related to what sort of sleep I got.
Funny how we are supposed to aim for those lower numbers that are supposed to be normal but lots of us feel better slighter higher than that. Maybe it is because for us Diabetes that IS closer to our normal.
