Ok…So the title pretty much says it all…
I am having trouble keeping my pod on with vigorous workouts. I think that it would be more convenient for my pod to be on the backside of my arm…but with everything I am doing it gets hit…or knocked off and I lose a pod. I have tried it on my arm twice, but it seems to work a lot better when on the back of my hip, for general things. I would like to wear it on my upper arm but I need to know what I can use to protect it. Like some kind of wrap or sleeve? Thick Coban wrap? Neoprene? What do you guys use and what works for you?
I would greatly appreciate the responses!

My son is very active in many sports and wears his on his arm. He also knocked them off at first (I think twice?) but ever since we only lost one due to a rough tackle on the playground. I think you get used to knowing subconsciously where they are but I don’t really know. He wears a Coban 3M wrap on his when he’s nervous about it coming off - and that works really well for him.
We second the Coban wrap - you can buy the real Coban but they make others that are cheaper and work just fine. My son likes the purple one from Target - it’s about $4 a roll. With the pod on the back of your arm, wrap it around a few times and your pod should stay on. Will goes in the water for hours with no problems at all. Also, he’s 4 years old and is pretty rough and tumble.
Good Luck!
The Coban wrap idea works well, but also might want to also use some mastisol when putting on the pod to give it some extra adhesion… It will tolerate a bit more abuse without coming off…
Mastisol works well. Also Skin Tac wipes for the same purpose. We found an improvement by using just alcohol instead of IV Prep, but sometimes need the added help of Mastisol or Skin Tac too.
I’m SUPER active (kiteboard, waterski, wakeboard, hiking et cetera), and all the tips everyone else has given seem spot-on for me!
I’ve actually been finding that the pods )for me)stick better without any skin prep because sunscreens, chlorine and lotions seem to disolve the skin-prep (but not the OP adhesive)
It works better for some people though.
For water sports I wear a neoprene"wet top" that has short sleeves that just cover the pod on my arm, and also covers the pod when it is on my hips.
For other things, I buy Coban-type wraps at the “Feed and Seed” store, cheaper and larger quantity for the same stuff you buy at the drug store…I cut it so it only wraps around one and a half times, which keeps the pod cool but also on nice and tight…
Best of luck! Let me know if I can be of any more help…
Ditto on everything that all the others have said. I use skin tac wipes, which has improved the adhesion immensely. And I use the coban wrap when I’m swimming laps, but it could easily be used for other stuff (as the others have mentioned) w/ no issues.
I hope you can find something that works for you!
I recommend wearing a wrap, neoprene, or whichever is cool/breathable as you’re exercizing.
My son plays competetive volleyball and wears his pod on the back of his arms. We wrap it with Johnson & Johnson Heavy Duty First Aid secure flex wrap and then put a Curad Hold Tite tubular stretch bandage (large size) over the wrapping. We have tried the generic forms of these products and they don’t seem to work quite as well. He has had a lot of success using this procedure. Good luck!

May good suggestions already…
Do not give up on placing the pod on your arms. It is a necessary spot to keep good rotations. Also, it takes some time for newer pod users to get used to how close we actually come to doorways etc…
There is a J&J water proof medical tape in your pharmacy band aid isle that works well and is a bit lighter on the pocket.
best of luck
I buy my skin tac wipes from Torbet Group. There may be somewhere cheaper though, so you might try googling it and doing some searching…
Skin Tac Bottles can be obtained at Allegro Medical discounted slightly… Dont seem to carry the pads there however…http://www.allegromedical.com/
(usually Allegro has either 20% off or free s/h depending on the day)
But they also carry Uni-Solve, Detachol, Mastisol. Skin Prep , IV Prep, and even Remove and a decent price on Tegaderm if your in the US… mastisol is expensive no matter where you get it
IF you buy skin tac, you will want some unisolve, remove, or detachol…
if you buy mastisol you NEED unisolve, remove, or detachol (preferred for mastisol)
You can get Unisolve in a good size bottle (less waste while home) and use a peper towel with it dont want to ruin a good towel with the stuff
Can also get directly from the Torbot Group in Rhode Island. but there are slightly cheaper options, or options that end up cheaper
There a lot of good suggestion here…the only thing I would offer is when you are doing a pod change. I have better luck when I change my pod in the mornings after I get up but before I take a shower…don’t know why but I seem to have better luck then if I do it after a shower. Think it has something to do with the moisture level in my skin. I just prep the spot with alcohol swabs and stick it on. Have had great luck but I’ve only been on the pod for 3 months…with the hot summer days I’ve had them soaked from sweating and they haven’t moved yet…Good Luck.
