I’ll be wearing a back brace quite a bit after spine surgery. My CGM sites are on my abdomen. Should I expect compression lows from wearing a back brace over my G6 CGM sensor? How quickly after compression does low BG show up?
My only feasible alternate site is the front of the thighs and is OK at best. Making a temporary switch to G7 is possible. Upper arm is too small and has a very poor history.
I never got compression lows on g6 but I get them a lot on g7. In the morning I can see when I roll over and all the dips I get. I even put mine in a place that won’t get the full weight of my body but still it happens
Similar to @Timothy I almost never get compression lows with the G6 on my arm or my abdomen. When I used a Libre with the same short straight sensor as the G7 I got them when sleeping on the sensor.
I think your best bet is to try compressing your G6 for 20 minutes using a belt or an ace bandage to see if the reading changes Then you’ll know if you are going to have an issue.
