Experience with compression lows sleeping on G7 on upper arm

I see the G7 is now an option with my Tandem Tslim pump. I’ll discuss it with my endo. But first I’d like to hear from some who are already using it.

The Dexcom ads all seem to show users wearing it on the outside of the upper arm. I’m a side sleeper, so one upper arm or the other will always be down. I’d like to know if any of you have frequent “compression lows”. I have them with my G6 somewhere btwn “occasionally” and “frequently” either wearing it on my abdomen or on my upper arm, so being less likely to get one with the G7 would be helpful.

Thx.

I am a side sleeper as well, both sides, and the way I mitigated compression lows was to place my sensors in a line anywhere between the top of my belly button to my xiphoid process. I have never had a compression low since doing that. My backup G6 sensor supply is almost used up so I have not yet applied my G7 sensors but plan to put the G7 in the same place as it works so well for the G6

You might try just to the inside of the bottom of you tricept. Works for me and there is no real contact with my ribcage.

I got compression lows infrequently with the G6 on outside of upper arm. Was not a real problem. Upgraded to G7 and get very frequent compression lows. Plan to try closer to under arm near the back next change. If that doesn’t help will try abdomen. Seriously would go back to G6 except for the warm up. Also have knocked G7 off my arm a few times. Never with G6. Not that impressed with the upgrade. Have to wear over patch or just comes off. Adhesive is terrible. What’s the sense of a small device if needs larger patch? Sorry for whining

I have always used the G6 on my arms. I save my stomach for my pods. I am only a side sleeper. I keep my G6 sensors on the front of my arms, or on the backs, or if they are on the sides, they are more towards the front or back… I never directly put them on the side, that’s just a sure fire way to cause a compression low for me. Even a little offside and I still chance it happening. It’s just better for me to keep it towards the front or back. Besides directly on the side and you are asking for it to get knocked off going through doorways or getting in and out of the car etc!

ADD ON: I had a Libre before the G6 came out and it was recommended for the arms and that is where I learned, though it had a lower profile, how easy it was to get knocked off if directly on the side of the arm and how I did not like being woken up by a fake low!

I haven’t tried G7 yet, but I put my G6 on the FRONT of my arms. Clear line of communication with pump and no compression lows. I use the back for infusion site rotation. We haven’t parted with our beloved waterbed yet, so I just can’t do Dexcom anywhere I’ll lay on.
