Back injury and high glucose levels

I am over 60 years old and on Monday I thought that i was still 20. lifting a heavy weight I hurt my lower back. ever since then my sugar levels have been on the high side. Is this a common result from a back injury

Possibility, blood glucose often responds badly to stress. I know from experience the a back injury causes stress. There Is also the possibility that your back injury is decreasing your activity level, that can also cause a rise in big.

Any injury is an inflammation and can result in elevated blood sugars. Hormones like cortisol are increased. And a back injury and the associated pain can do that.

This is day four since I hurt my back and I am just starting to get my levels down. I probably should have adjusted my doses. I have a shared care appointment next week so I’ll ask my endo about it.
Then the week after that I start 2 weeks of holidays. Good luck trying to control my levels then.
Thanks for the info.
