Ok so I’ve lived in Oakland CA. (bay area) for about five years now. I have been lucky to meet other type 1’s from this site but there must be more peeps out there - in or around oakland. I’m talking sf, berkeley, and so on. So I was thinking that if any other type 1’s are reading this and want to meet up to chat and get some really good food lets try to get something going for an up coming weekend.

I love my Type 1 support group that meets in Berkeley, Jim, but unfortunately you wouldn’t qualify as it’s a Type 1 Women’s Group! But if you contact the JDRF in SF and get on their mailing list they have lots of social meet up type activities, mostly in the City, but I understand they have started an East Bay branch as well that meets in Walnut Creek though I don’t know the details.
I live in socal but am interested in a road trip up your way with my wife. when did you plan to meet up?

Good idea, and there’s a number of us on here from around the bay area and surrounding regions so it couldn’t be too hard to set something up, I’m open to consider a trip down to where ever in the bay area.
And a meet around mid August would be especially good too…
sounds good. it may be in a couple months when it cools down a little. i have to get through an audit at work first to make sure i still have a job!

So I know I'm replying a good 6 months after this was posted - but was searching for Zoe's group and the TuD search results brought this up. Anyway, I'm SF (lived here just under a year now) and would love to do some sort of meet-up...especialy if it involves awesome food! If you're still doing this, keep me in the loop! Thanks!

Hey friends! There is a a meet up group called Beer and Basals through Carb DM that is pretty fun. Very casual-- they meet for drinks once a month in the east bay, SF, and peninsula.
