BBT Charting and blood sugars

Hi ladies,

I was wondering if any of you TTC are charting your temps as a method to concieve. If so, do you know if blood sugar highs (or lows) can affect your temperatures in the morning? I struggle with high morning sugar and have been working to get better morning control, but the rest of the day is fine. I usually take my temperature on waking at 7am every morning, and my temperatures have been all over the place. Makes it hard to interpret my cycle.

Any thoughts?

Thanks a bunch,

Laura

I just started trying to chart my basal temperatures as well. Half the time, I forget to measure. The other half of the time, it seems to jump around and I can’t yet see a pattern. I’ll check if I see any correspondence with my blood sugar in the next weeks.

Hope that you start to see patterns!

Thanks, Kristin! I’ve started charting online at www.tcoyf.com (the website of the Taking Charge of Your Fertility book) and there are alot of charts posted there to compare, which is helpful. I’ve started reading the book as well which is VERY informative and a pleasurable read. I set my alarm for the same time every morning and take my temp right away. It’s a good thing my thermometer beeps when it’s done, because I tend to fall back asleep with it in my mouth

Let me know if you find anything. Best of luck to you!

I’ve just gotten THE BOOK as well. I’m reading through it now and learning a lot

I’ve been charting my basal temps for a few cycles now, and I haven’t noticed any correlation with blood sugars. I found that it takes a couple of cycles of charting before you can start to look at the patterns and understand what’s going on. I do think that the book (THE BOOK!) is right about stress affecting your cycle, though, for what that’s worth. Good luck!

Well the charting must have worked! I’m about 5 weeks pregnant  We tried to time it according to temps and OPK’s. The book was very helpful.

Best of luck to you ladies
