Blah blah blah

I think some people confuse whine with struggle, or loneliness, or cry for help…

My aunt told me that complained to much about diabetes, once she said that I didn’t say a word, which meant alot of the times when i was around here i never let her know how i was really doing. It hurt my feelings that she said that, when i thought she was the one person i could talk to.

I don’t blame people for whining, i don’t blame people for bolusing for super high carb meals, or skipping insulin, or pretending for one day that what you do doesn’t affect your health, i don’t blame them for being scared of eating candy or going out to eat or talking to other people about diabetes. I don’t blame people for not caring. the reason i don’t blame them is because we all go through the denial, guilt, anger that is associated with this disease. The thing they don’t tell you is you never truly over come all those emotions, because once you got the handle on one thing life will throw you another curve ball.

I would like to thank Tudiabetes, for being a place for diabetics to speak out , and a place where you never feel alone in the disease. Because if it wasn’t for this place, i would probably be in my own deep dark hole, letting the loneliness get to me. This site has made me laugh, sigh, cry, appreciate, educated, and has let me become more aware of my diabetic surroundings (from new gadgets, techniques, and good friends with great advice).

No one said you had to listen :D, but to those that do i promise to hear you out to.
We are not in this fight alone, i think tudiabetes is a safe haven for us all.

I am so with you, sistah! HUG

can o hear keisha singing?

So true! Great post.

Very true! Thank you! If it weren’t for this site I would have lost what sanity I had when I found it. i just want to help if I can anywhere and yes I’ve done all that before and will probably do it again! 37 years (almost) kinda makes you do that! LOL!

Word.

People need to be very cautious about doling out ‘tough love’ to those they don’t know very well. What may look like whining about not being able to eat a cupcake could be something entirely different.

I agree completely. I am thankful for this site, all the members who choose to participate on it and in particular, those who cared enough to launch it and continue to make it available for us.

It does help… more than I thought it would.

+1 I’m very thankful for this place as well. there is a ton of great knowledge and support. I think the young lady (nd she’s young) did a a bad job of trying to communicate her point

I am also thankful for this place. Because people ask questions about diabetes, it is bound to be slanted towards “talking, complaining, etc… about diabetes”. Isn’t that what a support site is for? Excuse me while I go celebrate my diabetes! (sarcasm, just in case anyone didn’t catch that!)

So true. I am with you!

You know I’m all for just finding your inner strength and doing what you can to fo what you pitta do. But one time I broke down in front of somebody close to me, and even though they tried to understand my stress and gave me hug, they admitted they still didn’t understand why it was so hard… It’s nit there fault, they can’t always understand. But you guys know… And that helps a ton (as does any support, whether they understand or not)

Hmmm let’s see…this morning I pick…uhhmmm…

“Murmur”

Thanks Domo…so MUCH MORE productive this site!! xxxx

Grear Blog Sweetie. xo

I for one am very grateful for the website, I found this place
only about 7 or 8 after being diagnosed. Domo is the
only other diabetic I’ve actually talked to, a lot of
great advice has come my way in this short amount of time.
I already know I’ll remember this place for a long time to come.
