I'm going to try to incorporate the World Diabetes Day "blue circle" in any items I make, or at least prominently feature the lovely blue color.
Great idea!
Thanks blueyes :)
what are some handcrafted items people would like to see to bid on?
I'd love to see handcrafted things ;) Bring on your talents!
Judith, both acupuncture certificates and jewelry would be fabulous. The donor will send a photo, description, and approximate value. We'll notify them after the auction and they can ship directly to the winner. Don't see any point in doing shipping twice!
Does that answer your questions?
Thanks so much to those of you who have donated! We really want this to be a community event, so if you haven't yet please consider donating or soliciting an auction item. We have beautifully done 'ask' letters with the hand our Mike Lawson created just for the auction. Are you crafty? Hand crafted/local items would be wonderful. Maybe you have a local FTD florist who'd be willing to donate flowers, or a specialty food store that would donate a gift basket. If you know someone who works for a national chain, we'd love to have gift cards in the auction. Of course, we want some big ticket items too!
Please email DHFauction@pobox.com with your info to get a perosnalized letter you can print out.
What other ideas do you have? Let's brainstorm and get loads of good stuff. Think holiday gifts ;)
I forgot to add... places that ship gifts nationwide, like FTD.
If you haven't heard, we made the 10,000 clicks to get another $10,000 from Sanofi last night!
So, now let's rally around the auction. Rick Phillips did a great blog on how beautifully our community can rally.
If you've already emailed DHFauction@pobox.com with your contribution, don't despair.. thank you notes are imminent ;)
I wrote / illustrated a series of books. I'd like to donate an autographed copy for the auction. I e-mailed dhfauction@pobox.com, but got no response. Maybe caught in a spam filter or something. Where should I send it?
I can donate handmade insulin pump pouches.
sorry I didn't see the email address note above until now, I sent my information there.
You guys are awesome, that's great! Sam, your email never arrived ;( Try again please? Love to have the book!!
Ginger, pump pouches, yay!!
your welcome
Where do things stand re: this event?
Have not been able to follow the "services section" issues the way I would like. Am completing my in-stock inventory and may well have a specialized item or two for bidding possibly?
Now how does it work with services which are solely localized? Example, if I lived in Villanova, PA for example myself I would not be capable of offering my service(s) in other parts of the country if/when a bidder(s) wished to collect assuming my service was bid upon?
How does that kind of procedure work please?
Stuart, then we'd specify your area :) If you have any more questions post or email DHFauction@pobox.com . We're still actively soliciting donations. Thanks!
We have decided to postpone the auction to the first quarter of 2014 in order to gather more items.
Judith, no, but I think you just got around it LOL. I'll msg you ;)
