the BBT is anonymous, no one will see your test results. It's a great way to bring your bg down. I just got my 170 down to 102 (ok, I had some IOB too) currently participation is up to 2150 - COME ON people!
2nd BBT today - 107-101.
Once again, I'm draggin', the change of seasons, clocks, etc. is really tough!! BG 79 now so I'm gonna sit around but I'll get out in a bit...
Nope, they packed it w/ this foam stuff to make it stop bleeding and I have to f/u tomorrow to see if it'll have stopped bleeding. Fun!!
:(
Had a beer, walked, still a bunch of insulin on board but was 67 when I got home. Eeek again! I hope the AMA doesn't use me as evidence the BBT is unsafe...
124, about to go to PT.
I did it for the first time this morning. Started at 79, walked on the treadmill 15 minutes, waited 15 minutes, tested at 60. I normally won't walk if I'm below 100, but figured I could do it for 15 minutes w/o stumbling.
My wife just did it, but there's no way to enter her blood glucose levels! (She's not a diabetic, and the test only gives the BS entries if the 'diabetic' box is checked.)
I don't get it; why ask non-diabetics to do it if there isn't anything to do? Anyway, for the record, she started at 83 mg/dl and ended up, after about 20 minutes on her treadmill (half of her normal morning excercise) at 71 mg/dl. (She often experiences low blood sugar after excercise in the morning, mainly because she doesn't eat beforehand.)
jbowler, her entry still counts towards the 8000 we're trying to achieve. The data is being used for something (Manny?), so they want only diabetics to enter.
You can both redo it as many times a day as you want! What a great spouse to participate with you.
2nd one today. Went up to 150-something for no apparent reason. Down to 120s.
my husband and I just did ours today. he's type 2 and went down 42 and mine went down 21.
I took the test twice today, and unlike my blood sugar in the first one, these blood sugars went down as I had hoped. I guess I found out that stretching exercises (first time) didn't do much, while walking today definitely worked.
79---->52, usual long story, bolused for large dinner but shared some of it w/ junior and MrsAcidRock who looked sad eating their healthy salads. CGM was @ 130 so I was thinking "damn, I didn't bolus enough" but got ready, dog excited, test, 79, w/ some insulin still rattling around..."damn the torpedoes, 14 minutes isn't that long" and had some jellybeans, forgetting that it usually takes jellybeans longer than 14 minutes to "deploy" against the "torpedoes". Oh well, I'd better have a Guiness to make sure I don't rebound...
Last of the day - 96 -->82. *yawn*
Where are our 21,000+ members? The BBT is barely at 3000. It's anonymous, you don't have to have a 'good' bs or a 'good' result to participate.
My 2nd today - 91 -->79
I just did my second one today too. Also took my type2 husband along for the walk, and his went down about 20 too with just an easy walk. I really would like to see Manny with the blue hair, don't you??
Ok I went the other way earlier today....................Started out with a 102 and fell down to 27 after getting the groceries. I think part of me wanted those pecan pies my husband bought. Yep got 2 out of 4 of them. LOL! Oh and got his coke too!
mmmmmm Doris! I napped today and dreamt about pasta LOL
Pecan pie sure sounds good too :)
I did the test today. My blood sugar has been so messed up this entire week that it's been hard to find a chance to exercise when I'm not too high or low for it. :(
Today I started at 14.5 (261 mg/dl), after 15 minutes was 10.9 (196 mg/dl), and after another 15 minutes was 7.3 (131 mg/dl). So that's a drop of exactly 3.6 (65 mg/dl) for each 15 minute segment, which seems pretty average for me.
I had IOB when I exercised so still have some and may possibly go low now. I have been running 17+ (300+) for the better part of today and was just so sick of being high that I decided to exercise anyway.
