So, does anyone know if it is possible, and if so how, to extend the Resume Insulin alarm? Fifteen minutes is awesome if you just had to disconect for a few minutes and forgot to push the button after reconecting. However, my showers last a good 30 minutes, and a high-pitched alarm going off every three minutes at 5:30 in the morning isn't the greatest start to the day.
Thanks!
When I disconnect for the gym and shower I just let it continue delivering basal. You will only lose a unit or 2. This amounts to a drop or 2 coming out of the tube. No big deal!
Can you do a 0% temp rate for the duration of your shower?
I just disconnect and let it be as well, then run a 200% temp basal to cover the time it took.
Never thought of a 0% temp basal while disconnected- will be doing that in future as it will help keep my basal dose records more accurate. I'm very insulin sensitive so I like to keep a good eye on TTD.
Yes a 0% temp basal can be done and is a good solution. I prefer to do the "stop insulin" thing for showers, just so I have a reminder to hook back up, cus it doesn't always occur to me.
I do however use the 0% temp basal for an exercise class for 1.5 hours as all THAT beeping would surely get on everyone's nerves so "stop insulin" would not be appropriate for that.
