Cinnamon

Has any other Type 1 added cinnamon to their diets? I have started taking cinnamon pills after every meal and has had some decent results with lowering my BS after meals at the 2 hour mark. Just don’t know if it is helping with just the exercise or does it effect metabolism even when not excising?

This is an interesting thought, i am newly diagnosed and open to try anything that will help

I think things like cinnamon are more relevant for Type 2’s than type 1’s. I’m sure you’re doing other things to manage your blood sugar that are giving you good results.

Well I use cinnamon in my food because it is delish! And although the medical community is now saying that it does not lower BG, I find that it does for me. It doesnt lower like insulin but it is a good supporter…I have some supplements that is a combo of cinnamon and chromium, that work without exercising…I also however have just some chromium supplements and find that works faster than cinnamon. I guess its one of those things that may work for some but not everyone…

T1 & cinnamon hasn’t helped me, but I love the flavor.
