I am fine today Sportster ...thanks for you comment .I changed the low suspend setting from 3.3 to 3.6 ( x 18 ) ...I think that makes more sense .Your comment is interesting , that possibly FDA has not approved the Veo because of the CGMS results ...usually Canada is lacking behind thanks to Health Canada.
I noticed an advertisement in the Diabetes Dialogue , winter 2013 edition ( CDA )for Bayers Contour Next EZ ( not the Link meter ) with a notice , that strips are now listed on drug benefit plans in the provinces of Saskatchewan , Quebec, Nova Scotia , Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island...could be less than half so far .
I actually just got a call from Medtronic yesterday to let me know they are shipping the new meter out to me. For me, OneTouch is non-formulary so I am looking forward to the switch. However, I just received a coupon from OneTouch yesterday that is good for all of 2013 which would make my out of pocket $5 per prescription. Much cheaper than the $45/month I have been paying!
Kat,Thanks. I plan to start the Revel today.
God bless,
Brunetta
I still haven't been contacted by Minimed about when I might get an upgrade to the Contour Next Link. Two questions:
1) are the only strips the CNL can use are "Contour Next test strips"?
2) Has anyone found any Medicare suppliers who stock these strips? Medicare is going to restrict the number of suppliers starting July 1, and on the medicare.gov website, I can't find any suppliers who mention the "Contour Next test strips" as part of what they sell. I haven't called any of them yet, but hate having to call if anyone has found a supplier.
Bill- MM didn't contact me either, but I called them and they sent me a Contour Next Link meter at no charge.
1 - Yes, Contour Next Link can only use Contour NEXT strips. (same with any other Bayer Contour 'NEXT' meter - EZ, USB.)
2. I found this link regarding medicare and Bayer, but not sure it answers your specific question. Under 'program benefits', it does not list NEXT strips.
Bayer Contour Retail Medicare
If a person finds a pharmacy sells Bayer Contour Next strips and also accepts Medicare assignment, wouldn't it mean that a person could get their strips from that pharmacy? I also use the Bayer Contour Next meter and looked into the card for co-pay that came with the meter. If you look closely on the card it says that it is invalid for people on Medicare IF I read correctly :(
