Cream Soda or Dreamcicles

I miss my treats!! I used to love my ice cream. Though I would be careful and “try” not to eat too much, I still ended up eating a half gallon a month, not to mention all the full sugar sodas, cookies etc.

So now that I know about my condition… no more ice cream. But I’m VERY inventive too. ha ha ha!

Dreamcicles… you know them those vanilla and orange ice cream bars? Today I was studying away and my mind went ICE CREAM!! I said NO!! But my mind went ICE CREAM!!.. and so it went for a half an hour before I got up from my books.

Home Made SUGARFREE Dreamcicles.

1 small package of Royal sugarfree Orange Jello.
1 C boiling water
1 C skim milk
1/2 tsp vanilla.

make jello as directed except sub the milk for the cold water and add the 1/2 tsp of vanilla. place in fridge to set. when partially set stir again because it seems to settle a bit.
Yep… tastes just like a dreamcicle!!

I also missed my occasional cream soda but with the economy I dare not buy the stuff that’s $3 a bottle.

Now those of you that don’t know that favorite can of soda has corn syrup as the sweetner… it comes to a bottling plant in giant train tankers! (remind me to tell you about your favorite bottled water later)

It’s that “corn syrup” that gives the cola the “thickness” that koolaid doesn’t have. I mean they are both just flavors and water right? Wrong. In fact did you know that the drains from a bottling plant are monitored for hazardous materials?? YEP!!

Anyway. Cream soda. is only water, vanilla, and sweetner. So…

I didn’t pay attention to the measurements, but I made that too! LOL

In all of my 57 years, I can think of no treat (other than a good deli cheescake, perhaps) better than a banana chewed with raw almonds or Newman’s Own® dried apricots chewed with raw almonds. Both combos are unbelievably tasty and full of essential nutrients.

ah ha! you found it. I ended up posting this twice because I lost this one. LOL Oh well.
Have you ever frozen bananas? yummy.

I’m not much of an ice cream person but every once in a while I go to Baskin Rob and have a kid scoop of ice cream.
Love Cream soda…

I sometimes take frozen peaches, milk and sweetner then put them in my Bullett blender and it makes a nice shake. Doesn’t take much milk and it turns into a nice thick shake like treat.

No frozen bananas. Interesting idea, though.

Dreamcicles are the bomb. I ate them as a kid and oh goodness how i loved them

Rick

Yeah, I saw them once in Cali… years ago.

half a banana… stuck on a stick… dipped in that ice cream chocolate candy coating (you know that kind that gets brittle?) and rolled in peanuts. it was sort of a sunday on a stick.
