Soo thankful for Dex right now. I ate a higher carb meal, and my pump occluded as I was getting ready to eat. I changed the site and gave myself the 5 units of insulin I didn’t get, and went on with my night.
An hour later, and Dex hasn’t moved off 80. Too low to go to bed with 8 units onboard, but my food should have at least given me a bump, not to mention that 8 units seems like a bit much this late in the game (I thought Dex was wrong until I poked myself).
Turns out, I had gotten 5 units, and should have only made up one unit… I did it backwards (after stacking a dose from nibbling while cooking). Guess I’m eating a snack! I would have never known prior to Dex. This is why having access to both a finger stick and Dex will be a blessing for me.

So glad your okay! We live with this illness day in and day out, but sometimes we need to remember how dangerous it can be. Enjoy your snack, hopefully it’s something good
Right? My husband’s biggest fear is an overnight low… So I’m especially vigilant at night. Im glad I stopped and thought about it!
I’m just having cottage cheese with pepper on it. It’s my dad’s favorite, and I’m missing him a lot lately, so I have his snack. It bumped me up to 100, so I feel a bit better about it.

Ahh, dairy is the perfect snack for me in these cases! Super tasty (I also eat cottage cheese with pepper) a little bit of a spike and some staying power.

I enjoy cottage cheese with cinnamon as well.
I’ve never thought of that! I may have to try it.
