how low are you going...you're going to bed at what and low, approximately, when? again, you're probably not hearing the alert because you're low? I asked Dexcom yesterday if they're working on making alarms louder, the tech said they are...but that's in the future. Are you taking the Dex out of it's case? set it on a nightstand, dresser, whatever is close to your bed...it will vibrate very very loud. maybe that will help?
I actually don't use the case for my Dexcom, so it's always directly on my nightstand. I won't wake up until I'm in the 50s or 40s, which scares the stuffing out of me. When is variable, sometimes it is midnight, others it is 4-5 am.
Earthquake in Oregon! I had to move my receiver across the room, as my phone is also my alarm clock, and must be out of arm reach so I don't keep snoozing. It made me nervous, even though I can still get numbers when it is downstairs. It went off at 3 am, and I woke up right away.
The only problems I found with the app are that it won't work if your phone is on vibrate (no beeping), and that the light never actually shuts off. It will dim, and since it is across the room it doesn't bother me, but it does mean the phone has to stay plugged in. If for some reason the phone goes into sleep mode, it won't beep until you wake it back up. BUT, the app keeps it awake, and I woke up before I dropped below 65. Methinks it is a keeper!
Thank you thank you thank you!!! The app is amazing!!!
I've been checking back to see if it worked, glad it did!!!
Nice work-around!
same with me. 12am (always a drop) or 4 - 5am drop but often times I'll rise not drop around 4am too so I never know if I have DP or not? it's why I'm not on a pump yet. do you ever see a significant rise after you have a bad drop. I forgot if you're on a pump but hope you're just cutting back in general. 40 - 50's at night are scary. :)
Yes, I am on a pump. I was having DP for a while around 2am, but then for some reason it stopped, and I still have no idea why. The only time I see a really bad rise after a low is when I over-treat. Which happens a lot when you sit on your couch at 4am chowing down on glucose tabs without keeping track of how many you actually ate. :P
