I know I am healthier because I eat better because of diabetes but I just get so tired of checking and counting everyday all day .This is a bottle by my bed lots of money in that bottle
2709-photo.jpg (208 KB)it sure does suck sometimes. just this morning i was wishing it would JUST GO AWAY. i catch myself daydreaming about all the good stuff i would eat mindlessly and without stopping to breathe between mouthfuls. so many things....:/
i dont know what filled my mind before i started all this arithmetic for the 'betes!! oh well, what are we gonna do!?!
omg, would just eat soooo much!!
yes i am sure i would really be overweight cause i do the same thing . i think about what i would eat i think the first think i would eat is red velvet cake (the whole thing LOL) with ice cream on top then I would finish it off with a large ICEE
I thought it sucked all the time?
i would eat a mountain, i mean MOUNTAIN, of mashed potato. and since im in south carolina for the summer, i would eat bucketloads of hush puppies and corn bread. all with massive amounts of butter. i cant even think o0f all the sweet stuff id eat. every summer i come back to america and there are more chocolately and marshmallow filled cereals. id eat all of them. none for anyone else. no sharing of sweet cereals. ;-)
and yes, it really does suck ALL THE TIME! gotta laugh about it though. sometimes i just start laughing when i cant have something because i just cant believe it still. surreal...every day!! hahahahahaHAHAHA! thats big laughs right there...
It does suck, but you've gotta laugh at it sometimes. I mean, have you ever been driving down the highway, seen a speed limit sign that says something like "65 MPH" and think, "Oh, 65. That requires some glucotabs." Definitely sucks, but sometimes it also just makes me laugh. Or like the other day when a coworker came into my office and saw a juice box with Bert & Ernie on it and looked at me like I'd lost my marbles. I mean, how many 30-somethings have juice boxes with Sesame Street characters on them just sitting on their desk? Sucks? Definitely. Hilarious at times? Absolutely!
Haha that is funny MyBustedPancreas. But I agree, somedays you just half to laugh it off and keep going. LOL last night I was around 70 and I knew I was wanting to go to bed, but was a bit lower than I wanted to be, so I ate about 4 hard boiled eggs, LMAO...I was 280 this morning, IM like you know if I was going to spike THAT high...it should have been for something WORTH IT, lol.
A moment it does not suck : 7 minutes ago : a friend rang the doorbell to deliver a BD card ( my 72 nd ) and in the card a donation cheque towards my Amsterdam Team Diabetes ( Canada)run ,October 2013 fund raiser for all people with diabetes in Canada... a time being in overwhelm maybe ??? I like to stay focussed on these times ...almost 30 years later ...my donor friends " get it "
I am glad everyone feels the same as I do . I do not care or really even think about it most days it just is what it is . But some days I am just sick of it today was one of those days .
It started out because I wanted pancakes real pancakes not low carb pancakes, real high carb pancakes from IHOP . But I would have to take so much insulin then I would be high for 2 hours and then fight lows for the next 4 hours . Even though it is not worth I still want them that is why diabetes sucks today
Well as for your Eating Healthier? That's a Bunch of Baloney !
If taking Insulin? They Aren't Fast acting, when it takes 3 hrs to peak
and telling us it's Good to have 6% A1c's when Non D's have 4.5%
so that's a bunch of Baloney too
They Know we don't have either the Tools , nor the Right Insulins to get lower Consistant BG's . If your 200 a True Fast Acting would get it down in 15 min. , not 2-3 hrs.. without causing a Hypo..
And Diabetes Doesn't Suck just "Sometimes", It sucks ALL the Time..
And the Only Way to beat it, is thru a CURE, not More fancy pumps, test meters and strips that make everyone else More $..
and only about 10% get them anyway..
You Younger Generation D's ought to be In your Policitans Faces for Alot More Funding to Finding a CURE..! and Demanding it!
All the other Diseases are doing it.. and The Squeaky Wheel Gets the Oil..
we all feel the same way. the pancake craving is killer, yeah, good ones from a greasy spoon or ihop. i could fantasize about food all day. like its my job. tomorrow will be better!
Dennis ,I do eat healthier then I would if I did not have diabetes . When i eat low carb i dont need as much insulin and my sugar stays more even all day .As far as a cure people have been looking for a cure for cancer ,still not one diabetes still not one ,aids still not one
My dad lost his dad to cancer he believes that they have a cure for all these things but they make too much money for all the treatment and meds if they don’t come up with a cure, maybe so I don’t know . All I know is I try not to be negative about things it is what is we just have to deal with it ! ( that’s are favorite saying at my house )
I've had a couple of really sucky D days too, so I'll unload here!
Forgot to bolus for dinner last night?!? Very lc thank goodness!
Woke up to sensor failure, and unusually high (for me) am BG.
Pulled out my set (new last night, of course) pulling up my pants.
Spilled coffee- missed my puter though tg.
The rest of the day has gotta be an improvement LOL
Resteraunt in Central Florida, does "corn fritters" covered with confectioners sugar, soooo good, I would order 3 dozen and eat them all before they were cool enough to touch.
i had never been to the south until my mother retired to sc three years ago (were from nyc). the food is awesome. all in batter, mmm mmm good!
