Eating half a peanut butter sandwich before bed?

has anyone heard that this may help regulate you more if you eat half a peanut butter sandwich before bed? wasnt sure others thoughts?

I dunno about bedtime I have 1/2 PB sandwich for lunch pretty much every day. I think that switching from “lunchmeat” (ham, turkey, etc.) to peanut butter has helped me feel a bit stronger, either less chemicals or some intangible nut factor. Or maybe it’s the “nut behind the wheel”?

This is sometimes useful for people who are taking shots, especially if you take your evening basal insulin right before bed. The insulin companies say there’s “no peak” to the basal insulins, but many here on TuD would definitely voice otherwise, like Jackie mentioned (and in my experience, lantus had a peak as well). The PB sandwich would provide some carbs and some slower burning protein to help provide glucose to you through the night (during that peak) so that you don’t have a hypo. If you’re getting hypos often during the overnight hours, eating something like this might be a good idea…or alternatively, changing the time that you take your evening basal shot (pushing it back to dinner time for example).
