Entering BG from metr other than Ping

Now it may be that my pump went out of warranty in 2010 (I aqm working on getting a new one) Due to my jobs and lifestyle, I frequently use a One Touch Ultra Mini (the Piing meter is too big to fit in a pocket when I am in the field). It seems as though noe of the Mini records show up when I download the pump for appts with my Endo.
And...there will be a reading of over 600 (I have never ever been that high since I was dx'd with type 1. And dose amounts of over 200 units! The most I have ever dosed is 6u for a major splurge meal (e.g. Thanksgiving)
I callled the tech people at Animas and they suggested switching to Diasend. Anyone using Diasend? What are your opnions?

Yes, I use Diasend and really like it. You do have to get the “dongle” from Animas. Before you get that, you can go ahead and set up your account on Diasend. If you go to their website, you can read the patient PDF that gives some instructions and lists compatible meters. The Ultra Mini is listed as compatible, but you do need the download cord for it. You’ll also download the Diasend Uploader software to your computer.

When I got the dongle thing from Animas, my Windows 7 computer did not recognize it. I called Animas who connected me to Diasend. They had me call the company who manufactured the dongle and a very nice technician emailed me the correct software. We have a second home in Arizona and my Windows 7 computer here handled the dongle with no problems.

I use two Verio meters in addition to the Ping meter. I downloaded all 3 at Diasend. By entering my doctor’s clinic ID #, I was then able to download my Dexcom Gen4 CGMS and get some combined reports. One of the CDE’s at my doctor’s office was able to give me the clinic ID.

I like Diasend a lot. Having come from a Medtronic pump, I was used to Carelink which is also an online program. They both work very well.

Hope this info helps you.

Thank you! I remember you from the ADA boards. Anyway, I'lll order the mini cord, and I have already requested the materials from Diasend. I am so frustrated with the EZMgr. I have to print out separate reports for bg, carbs, boluses. Thenj create an excel spreadsheet to have them together in a single day.I alsoam doubts as to how copmplete the records are, since quite a few bg readings that were manually entered didn't show up (e.g. I always test at 11:00 pm before going to bed and there are no readings for that time!)

Thanks for sharing your opinion of Diasend. It would be fun if somehow thoses of us active on boards could meet faace to face.

I wonder if EZMgr is in the way out since it doesn’t even support Windows 7 much less Windows 8.

Yes, I also remember you from the ADA boards. I have occasionally met in person people that I met online. I spend my winters in Arizona and just last week met in person an “online friend.” Who would have thought that I’d end up with a diabetes social life?
