Just hooked up my new pod, the new system. So far so good, but wish me luck!! Especially tomorrow as we are tailgating and I don't need a failed pod!!
Good luck Alesha. I used my first one last night and the insulin delivery failed on me late this morning. This rarely happened to me with the First Generation pods. I would bring a spare pod with you just in case.
I never leave the house without 2 extras! Thanks!!
Good Luck I also take extra stuff with me every time I go out. Just in case. I will start on my new pods on Monday since I still had some old ones left.
hi alesha, the new pods fail if you try or even accidentally put in more than 200 units other than that things have been pretty smooth sailing for my son Jacob. I would say if it didn't fail at start up you should have a wonderful day! the one thing we had to adjust to initially was the IOB feature now it accounts for food, if you eat frequently like my son this could potentially lead to a problem of the pump not calculating enough insulin to cover your food. we adjusted his insulin action time to 2.5 hours and this seems to have helped a lot. in anycase the smaller size is much more comfortable and with our experience I would say alot more reliable than the old! have an awesome day! amy
I've had it on overnight now and part of this morning so far so good!!
Good luck with it & have fun tailgating. So far I haven’t had any of the new pods fail. I have however ripped one off 5 minutes after putting it on, had the sticky come off and lost 1 etc…my biggest problem is the sticky coming loose. I have found the best thing to use is athletic tape. I live in Texas it’s humid and hot so I have searched and searched for tape that will stay stuck. One pod I used the tape on I wrapped it around my arm daily more and more tape on top of tape. I started to look like a mummy I still haven’t met my deductible for the year so the pods are full price & I was determined to not lose that pod. I love your name btw
I just finished a box of 10 of the new pods. All filled 100% and all used as normal like I did with the old pods. No failures at all.
So far so good for me, we are on day two!!
I usually (if any) only have tape problems during swimming time! I try not to loose any either, wether I've met my deductible or not!! I hate adding extra tape though so I feel your pain!
Woo hoo finally some people that arent on a rampage against Insulet and use the pods correctly!
I know! Sometimes it gets depressing hearing all the problems and never any good stuff. On my second pod now and it's going great! Love the smaller size and I really don't mind the extra confirmation steps. It doesn't take anymore time than it did before!!
Amen to that, how much time does it take to push the CONFIRM button? I still think its funny it "moves" from Middle to Left randomly :)
LOL, I just noticed that last night, that it never seems to be in the same place!
I thought the first time..that maybe I had a few too many drinks :) But a friend confirmed that the button had moved
That's to make you look for it... so you're not just pushing it automatically - which would defeat the purpose of the 'confirmation'.
