I went for my flu jab this morning, no problems. I’ve had the jab every year for at least the last 10 years, even longer I think and never had a reaction or symptoms from it. Go get yours!
I’m also basal testing today so I’ve had no lunch and am absolutely famished!!! Seems to be going well though.
I’m hoping to get more involved in the online diabetes community as I really want to get on top of my control. My latest HbA1c was 10.4 (which is nothing unusual - I have a fear of hypos and run high constantly) but that has to change.
Hi Dee - I agree with you - time to make a change - and lower your A1C. Being on a pump it should be easier. That’s one of the reason’s I went onto a pump 2 years ago. On MDI (multiple doseage injections) I was having hypos at night - my A1C’s were 7% then. When I went onto the pump, my A1C’s are now under 6%. I very rarely have hypos unless I “goof up” on my bolus or forget to lower my basal rate when I exercise.
BTW, curious, which flu jab did you get? Here in Canada, we finally have the H1N1 flu virus. Abit earlier then expected. Right now they are saying to get your H1N1 shot first, then a month later, get the regular flu shot. I’m still on the fence post about the flu shot this year (always get the regular one - but it’s the H1N1 that worries me abit - as I’m sure it does for a few others here).
So, hope to see you around Tudiabetes - you’ll find it really helpful (it has been for me). I’ve only recently gotten involved in the diabetic community - and it’s made my life so much more richer! Learning so much, and also sharing my knowledge of Type 1 diabetes (42 years for me - diagnosed at 7).
