From Pumping to Lantus

I would have your endo check to see if you have scar tissue. To verify. You should feel a hardness under the skin. I'm not a big fan of Lantus but our DD does not want to be connected anymore. She is using a lot more Lantus for basal than she was with Apidra in the pump. You can manage on it. Control is better with the pump. If you get half unit syringes you can get your bolus dose very close and correct for lower highs. The disposable pens, which are so handy, only come in unit doses. When switching to Lantus, they will give you close to your basal dose you use on the pump (a unit or so lower). Then you adjust upward till you find your Lantus dose. Maybe you just need to give your body a rest and can resume pumping after a few months. Or you might first try a different set.
