Okay so I wake up this morning and my CGM sensor is telling me im 60 and I do a test, and I’m 55. not too bad as far as the sensor range is concerned. I ate to correct that, and packed my lunch and breakfast so I could go get ready for work. Well I get to work and eat my breakfast (apple, bananna, and low fat yogurt) and give my bolus for the food. Well Im watching my spike and it says 195 and I let it ride for a bit and it started coming down. I looked at my sensor on my first break and it said 85. I tested and I was 290! Well I made sure I had calibrated, which I did, and then assured that my pump site was good. I gave a correction for the high BG from the pump, and went on my way. I tested 1 hr later and results were 295! So the reason I’m frustrated is I had a sensore fail, a site fail, and just a generally crummy start to the day. The only thing that has brought be back down some is manual injection, but I have no long acting insulin with me right now. This is starting to suck…hardcore.
That is really scary. What if it was the other way and you corrected for 290 when it was really 85. I use pens and a meter, seems like I’ll just stick to that.
Some days just suck dont they. Just keep that great A1c in mind and push through it
Well I knew to check because I just like to double verify it from time to time. Also this sensor was on its last leg. It was day 5.5 which is usually how long they last for me. So when it said i was low and I didnt feel it I just double checked. So here I sit on injections until I can get home to change out my set. Good thing I remembered my bag of stuff today lol!!!
Indeed sir…indeed!
I’m telling you, sun spots…or squirrels.
I will take squirrels
You may think they’re cute, but then they’re stealing advocados from your advocado tree. The next thing you know, BAM, failed sensor, POW, failed site…you get the idea.
I…Im at a loss for words. I dont mean just on the keyboard, I mean totally. NO ONE TOUCHES MY AVACADOS!!!
thumbs up
Put the avocados down and no one gets hurt! Neeeeed Guacamole!!!
I’ve decided when CGM’s work they r great & when they are “off”, they cause more stress… my opinion is that they were marketed before they were perfected AND pump co"s leave out the fine tuning till u have one and the probs that go along
Oh I agree. And like I said, I knew this one was about to go out. It was giving Cal Errors and all that, so it was just a matter of time. I just didnt think my site would fail at the same time! Now if i can just wrestle the avocados back from that darn squirrel. He owes me for the bad day!
