Fungal infections?

I’ve had weird high BGs the past few days. Today I’ve already done 6 corrections. I have a minor fungal infection that started a few days ago - has anyone had anything similar that raised your BG? Nothing else has changed, I’m mind-boggled LOL

What is it with me and you jrtpup. It seems like every time you post a problem with needing to correct a bunch I have the same exact problem on the same exact day. We must be on the same wavelength or something…

I have never heard of a fungus causing high blood glucose but I have learned to never expect the same response from 2 different people given the same situation. Interested to see if anyone else has ever noted elevated blood sugars from a fungal infection. It would seem to make sense. If your immune syystem is fighting the fungus it would send out the signal there is stress to the body which in turn would tell your liver to dump glucose. I don’t know though.

LOL Same wavelength, knew each other in a previous life, planets in synch with each other…

I’m really hoping it is the fungal crap, at least it would be an explanation! I lowered my target BG yesterday (didn’t feel like hassling with anything more), tweaked a couple of basal rates… if anything it’s worse today sigh I’ve eaten almost nothing but no carb food today except for one 10 cho meal. Arrrrrrrgh!

My Doc tell me it’s the other way around. Fungal infections are caused or at least made worse by high BG levels. It seems that fungus loves to feed on the high BG in our systems

Bah. My highs haven’t gone above the high 160s. For me, that’s high. I guess if my body isn’t used to those levels…

Maybe I should just up my basals 120% or something for a few days and see what pans out. Stemwinder, I wanted it to be the OTHER way around LOL

But many types of bacteria like to feed on glucose too.
