I guess the party is over -
Just starting yesterday, my BG is continually creeping up - I have increased my Lantus to 12 units, and my carb correction to 1u/15g of carbs, yet after meals, I can get it down to 100 or so 3 hours later, sometimes with a little exercise, and then it just starts creeping upwards. Did so last night, it’s doing so right now. I’ll take a correction, but MAN this is getting annoying. Starting on the pump soon, so I feel like I need to get a handle on this SOON.
Every time it seems like you get a routine down, your body changes its mind. Does this change? Or is it like this forever?
(Having one of those diabetes frustration days)
For me I go through periods where I seem to be stable and then out of the blue, things get crazy for no reason. I’m not sick, it’s not stress, nothing has changed. With a pump it is much easier to handle for sure. I have been going the opposite direction from you all week, low, low, and low again. I have adjusted my basals twice already this week and now I seem to have it down to one low a day instead of four. And nothing has changed that could have caused this weirdness! Same schedule, same amount of stress, same dinners even! Sometimes the D just makes no sense at all! Hang in there! When do you get your pump?
Thanks for the reassurance - I hope yours decides to get its act together soon! My levels leveled out finally yesterday - though at my new dosage levels (might be the end of my honeymoon).
My pump came last week! Training starts on Tuesday, and my CDE thinks I’ll be able to get started as soon as the week after next. Woo Hoo!
