All the talk in the media today is about the reversal of Type 2 diabetes after gastic bypass surgery. When I was diagnosed originally with type 2 I was a good candidate for the surgery. I have had non-diabetic friends that have had it and the weight loss alone was very dramatic. I had all the pre-testing done and then I found out I was really type 1.5, everything came to a screeching halt. From what I was told the surgery would NOT help with this kind of diabetes. Has anyone heard or read anything to the contrary? If you have, please point me to the information...
If you have Type 1 autoimmune diabetes, then gastric bypass will not resolve the diabetes because it is autoimmune in nature.
