Anybody know a good doc for a type 1 in Richmond, VA or Fredericksburg? I'm out in the boonies, the Northern Neck of Virginia, and it's hard to find good specialists. Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Paul

Paul, according to your profile, you have a pod pump. When I moved to my current location, I called the Medtronic rep for my area (since I use MM) and asked him for endo names who are especially good for pump patients. He gave me a top name and I have been happy with him, until he retired recently!
Therefore, why not call your area pod rep and ask? If there is not one, you could also try the Medtronic rep as they are more widely available.
Another option is to sign up for a diabetes class in Richmond and ask the Diabetes Nurse who pod pump patients prefer. Check hospital websites and search for "diabetes class."
In general, these folks may not want to give names but if you work it right, you will get at least a couple of names. Like, "OK, if you don't want to give me a single name, how about two?" My area MM rep had no hesitation, however.
Richmond & Fredericksburg (esp Richmond) have many endos but you do need to know which ones support the Omnipod. I just googled both cities + endocrinologist. Once you get a list of names, you can call the office and ask if the endo has any Omnipod patients.
Good luck.
