Happy Mother’s Day to you too Robyn and to all you moms out there! My mom is in the UK, so I’ve just contacted her online… My kids are in the UK too and don’t know it’s mother’s day out here… But I got an English card on the UK’s Mother’s day. 
My lovely husband is making up for me not having the kids around though… he’s a treasure… brought me breakfast in bed this morning… Thanks honey, Love you. xx

I lost mine suddenly, 12 years ago. I still think about her, it seems like yesterday!

I lost my Mom last october, so this is the first mother’s day ever for me without a mother…but I was blessed with the presence of my two children, their lovely spouses and above all - my grandchildren (Sophie -6 - diagnosed in Oct. 09 with type 1, and her brother, Bryce -4 years old). May we all, our grandchildren, their parents and grandparents, be blessed with a Cure this year. Marianne

Hi Judith, I know exactly how you feel, the memory of burying her wakes me every night with a huge wave of sadness. I find this site so supportive and wonderful, that maybe we should start our own support group here of “grandmothers of children with diabetes, grieving the loss of their own mothers”…what do you think?
