I am trying to figure out more options in wearing my pump. i don't mind it being seen, but i would like to get it in a comfortable position. this waist pouch looks good, but it might bulge through a shirt. have any of you tried it? what works for y'all?
I have a version of that pouch that I bought over a decade ago. I'm not sure it's still the same but it worked well for me. (I don't use it now. It was made for a smaller minimed pump than I have now, though I did squeeze it in and use it a few times. I remember wearing it to bed and being comfortable with it.) I recently purchased a Spibelt. They are amazing. I have it "in case" but haven't actually worn it for an extended time.
Being a woman, I've had my share of issues with concealing the pump depending on what I'm wearing, but I probaby couldn't give you much assistance in that regard.
When I'm wearing comfortable clothes, like the loose jeans I use for yoga and folk dance, I just keep my pump in my pocket. One young lady I know was able to clip her pump upside down to the bottom of spandex shorts. And we ladies can stick it in our bras, but I suspect that won't work for you, LOL!
As far as sleeping, I just let the pump free float. Every once in a while, it goes over the edge, but it has never pulled out the set, and when I wake up, I just find it dangling. But most of the time, it just sleeps with me like an exhausted hound. Some people put their pumps under their pillows.
I'm not sure what would make you most comfortable, but maybe other people will answer this thread, too! :-)
I just ordered a second one. It's really comfortable but unless you have a loose shirt it would be a bulk under it.I wear it over a t-shirt. I wear pants a lot but needed a change from clipping the pump to my jeans. And didn't want any of those BIG pouches. It's small.
I have the pouch you show on the link. It is good. I like it because it's soft, is completely velcro (no clips) and has a strap that you can use as a waist pouch and a leg pouch (I sometimes wear it around my thigh when wearing skirts). I honestly don't use it much, but when I do, it works great.
I've had my eye on the Spibelt, which another comment also mentioned. They look really nice, low profile and I like their style/color options. Check them out: http://www.spibelt.com/
Normally I use the belt clip from Medtronic but like the option for a pouch as well. good luck!
I have always used the plastic clip and clip the pump to my belt. I leave it floating at night but tend to semi wake and hold on to it when I turn over so I know that I’m not going to pull it. It’s never pulled out at night. I’ve tried the other bags that came with the clip but I find them too bulky. I always go back to the clip.
Also just tried the spandex belt from talleygear. real comfortable and less of a bulge. comes in solid colors (black, etc) more for more men maybe.... you can put around waist or just below waist.
Thanks Lisa L. for including the link to the Spibelt website! I had visited the website before but I happened upon them at a local runners' gear store and got to try one before buying. I was amazed that such a tiny pouch could expand to easily hold my pump, phone, and glucose. It is so low profile that I thought it would work really well under clothes. I also wanted something to hold what I need when hiking/exercising, which it does quite nicely!
Usually I just wind the tubing around the pump and put it in my pocket. That works with most of outfits. If I don't have pockets or they are too shallow, I quite often just tuck it in my waistband, if it's tight enough.
Hi ! … After 13 years on the pump I have mastered the way to hide my pump … For men I think its much easier because you usually just wear pants … Or exercise clothes … Check my tutorials on youtube on jeans , pants with pockets and exercise clothes … Search for my name … Ukikawasaki … And tell me what you think … It is REALLY EASY …
