In preparation for my upcoming Endocrinologist appointment next week, I needed to have some blood work done to check my A1c and the variety of other things they look at. So I headed over to a lab that happens to be down the street from work. Being a Diabetic, getting blood drawn is almost as much of a non issue as waking up in the morning, so I never stress out or worry about going to the lab.
Oh I hate having blood drawn! I always warn them a head of time that I don’t enjoy it and that I won’t be watching. I had some shmuck one time say “But you’re a diabetic, you should be used to needles.” I wanted to punch him in the face.
My first week after diagnosis was spent in the hospital and I would be woken up by a nurse with a needle around 6:30am every stinking morning. One morning she was a little to rushed and she cut me with the needle when she was pulling it out of my arm. Attentive wasn’t she?
