Holding Sensor on While Swimming

So some of you guys are swimming successfully with the Dexcom and not letting it dry off every 30 minutes! ? ? ! My questions is - are you afraid the sensor will fall out while youre swimming ? Do you cover it with something to be sure if doesnt come out ? If you use tape - are you taping right on top of the sensor ? (Is it getting all sticky then ?) Thanks in advance Q

Bryan, where do you buy Optiflex?

I couldn’t find “OptiFlex”.

Would you mind posting the exact link?

Thanks!

Love the Opsite Flexifix !! Do you cover just around the edges of the sensor or do you actually tape right on top of the sensor and cover it all ?

Yaay, I can swim again! (Which is great since I actually live on a beachfront.) Thanks!

Just ordered some…thanks for the tip Bryan!

I’ll hvae to look into that- I never heard of that !

So is that why I get ??? every time I shower? I don’t mind waiting the 5 min for it to pick up again but these ??? usually take an hour to go away?

Hi

You said that you cover the transmiter with OPSITE Flexifix when you are in the pool, and when you leave the pool you remove the Flexfix!? Or you let it in!?

(If you you remove, the original sticker is not affected and also takes off!?)

Thanks

Nuno

This is great to hear! I swim laps twice a week (or more) and the minimed sensor will NOT stay on. I will tape it very carefully, but the design has the transmitter sticking out from the transmitter and water always gets in and makes the transmitter flap. The flapping pulls on the sensor and I always end up taking it off. Which means I can’t wear CGM for more than 3 days at a time (if I want to swim). Dexcom looks like it stays on tight, can’t wait to give it a shot!

I also hear the insertion needle is much smaller, which would be nice, MM just feels invasive.
