I have had my CGM system for almost one year & have used the sensors up to 24 days, recharging the transmitter every 6 days. Today I am getting a low battery message after less than 2 days of use, Is this a sign that my transmitter is dying. Do I just disconnect it & recharge it and reconnect & hope for the best. I don’t want to replace my transmitter unless I have to (no insurance coverage), but I am leaving on a 3 + week trip (driving - prob close to 3000 miles total) in about 1 1/2 weeks and I don’t want to be without CGM.
I heard the warranty for transmitters is only six months (which means after 6 months you can request a new one from your insurance company and they should pay for it). So it makes sense that after a year of using it that you’re having trouble with it. I haven’t heard anything from other people, mostly because I don’t know people who have been on the CGM all that long! I would call Minimed and find out what they think.
I don’t have a CGM, but I have heard from other members of the community that the MM transmitter lasts about 1-2 years. Though some seem to get a much longer!
