I filled one last night by mistake, thinking my current one was just about out of insulin, but it wasn’t. How long can I go without priming a filled pod before it simply times out?
I thought just the pdm or app knows the insulin. So a filled pod that is not active may not by itself be timing out.
But just a guess, I don’t use pods.
I have always assumed that the 80 hours time clock started with the 2 beeps when filling the pod…but never tested that assumption. Keep us posted, inquiring minds need to know!
@Jim2,
Two hours.
If you do not activate it within two hours of filling, the pod will not work.
BTW, the reason I know that is because I thought it would be super easy to pre-fill some pods. Like just have them ready to go, all I have to do is prime and put it on and activate it. But since it didn’t work, I tested it out to see how long I could wait.
EDIT:
Sorry, I had tested this and posted about it several years ago, but I had forgotten the number. I just checked my original post and it is indeed 2 hours.
The pod would not prime. The PDM indicated it had passed the two-hour mark from being filled and could not be activated. I was able to recover the insulin.
