Human Self Experimentation - The OGTT

Rant all you like:)

Rather difficult for docs to accept that it’s self-management. I’ve heard of endos who’ve dropped patients because they’ve adjusted their insulin doses. Everyone on insulin changes their doses. We’re damned if we do & damned if we don’t.

I suppose I do not understand America. Of course if you use insulin you will go low on occasion it is unavoidable. Why should this be a problem for the doctor. And there is no way a Dr can dose the insulin this is up to the patient. No?

I think some of them don’t even understand enough to show a patient how to dose themselves, or how to learn how to dose themselves… so they avoid it, some till the very last minute… At least, general practitioners… before sending to an Endocrinologist.

Lizmari…you probably already know this…just thought I would mention it anyway…exercise (all kinds) makes it easier for insulin to unlock cells allowing the fuel in…effectively reducing insulin resistance.

I don’t think your a “whack job”…You sound like someone who takes control of the situation.

What does “hosed” mean?

Screwed… basically.

Well, I supposed “Screwed” is true. Merriam-Webster defines “hosed” as slang for “to deprive of something due or expected” with synonyms to trick or to cheat

I do feel “hosed
