Humulin 70/30

Hi all. I saw my PCP this morning, and he changed me to 20 units Humulin 70/30 in the morning. I will continue taking 23 units Lantus at night and use Humulin R on a sliding scale as needed. Now that I am starting the Humulin 70/30 tomorrow morning, I won’t have to take 3 - 6 units of Humalog with meals anymore. (I feel wierd already knowing I won’t have to inject as often… lol) I will continue monitoring my bg levels at least five times daily (fasting, postprandial breakfast/lunch/supper, and bedtime). My doc also added Reglan for help with IBS symptoms, and I will continue taking Bentyl four times a day as well.

Has anyone made a switch like this? I’m just curious how it works - and what possible problems I need to be aware of in switching insulins. I did mention TuDiabetes to my PCP, and he knows that I post here. He told me that the best advice I could get would come from other diabetics who have tried or currently take this insulin - and I love the fact that he supports our community! =)

Thanks in advance for your comments, etc.
