I am now a pumper! Woohoo!

It is FANTASTIC! I've only been doing it four days and already I am loving this new era of my diabetes management. I got the Animas Vibe and Dexcom. How did I ever manage without a CGM? It's like I have been blind for all these years and now I can really see.

I am blogging about my experience here: My Pump Start Experience - Part 1

Will keep you updated when I finish part 2 :)

Can you maybe post here for those of us who don't read blogs how you like your pump? Perhaps you can post about the CGM in that forum as well.

Oh yes, and congratulations!

Congrats! I take it you are not in the USA since we are still waiting for the Vibe to be approved here. I have the Animas Ping and the Dexcom 4 and I credit those two things with my success at having "normal" labs for the past several years. I'll check out your blog too.

I read your blog and saw that yu are looking to name your pump. Mine is named "Greta Carbo". I'm Swedish American so it seemed fitting. I'm good at alliteration and such. I'll think and make suggestions later for you to consider. I love naming things.

haha that's an awesome name! I am now stuck for a name. I will need to think of something clever. Oh, at night I slip it into an old sock so it's not cold and so nocturnally, the pump is known as "Sockmonster" but that is not appropriate during the day lol.

Hi Zoe, my blog has been my journal for a long time and that is where I am comfortable posting long pieces, so I can keep a track of them. However, I can give you a quick summary: I'm loving it! The control is amazing and it feels like I can finally "see" after many years "blind".

thanks! :)

And here is PART 2 - you will need a coffee as it's quite long and comprehensive. I've written it more as a reference for me, however I have written in detail about what happened in my pump start. :) Enjoy!
