I finally have an endo!

I got a referral today from the doctor that gave me my bloodwork. He agreed that I for sure have diabetic symptoms an should be seen by an endo. I asked for Dr.Keely at the riverside hospital here in Ottawa. My friend sees her and loves her and she’s type 1 diabetic as well so that’s a bit of a bonus I think  I dunno how long it will take to get in to see her but at least I finally have my foot in the door!!

Yay, good news, Alicia; and a Type 1 endo - how cool is that!

Wow! That's awesome! I always think that I'd find a T1 endo perhaps more credible than "straight" ones.

That is wonderful news. I'm sorry you had to go through so many hoops.

I know I’m really annoyed it took so long for someone to say here you need an endo and here is the referral. Also I’m so happy I was able to suggest an endo and the dr was like sure what’s her name and where does she work out of! That’s amazing  also the fact that she’s t1d is ahhhhhmazing! My friend loves her so I’m hoping that I will too!

This is great news Alicia. Finally you will be getting some answers. It looks like your persistence has paid off.

That is awesome. My new endo (seen him three times so far) has Type 1 himself as well, and I think it's great!

Awesome! Congratulations! And lots of credit to you for persevering to get the care that you need and deserve.

Thanks! I finally feel like I'm getting somewhere!! yay

Yay! I'm glad you are going to start getting the treatment you need before you get into a life threatening situation or have complications. Good luck!

She is David's endo also. She is Chief of the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at Riverside, so you will definitely be in good hands.

Perfect! I've heard nothing but great things about her. Hoping that they call me next week with an appt thats hopefully sooner rather than later. :)

Great news !
