After a frustrating night at the hospital I'm home.
Hopefully I can inject insulin into my tummy when I actually need it, right now I really don't as I'm hardly eating. I"m covered in iodine and bruises and I'm still in a ton of pain.
I've went through way too much for a 23 year old since Saturday.
I am checking to see how you are doing. I have been suffering with a blocked gall bladder on and off. I have been prescribed the medication Questran, which seems to unblock it. I am sorry that you are going through such pain and at such a young age. Hopefully after you recover from surgery your health will improve, until then I will be praying for you. Please keep us posted. I appreciate reading your blogs.
Well besides mostly just shifting between walking around the house and sleeping I'm doing alright.
I had to go to the ER on Friday morning because I thought I was in DKA (because large ketones on 2 tests) but it turns out just starvation ketones and dehydration , as my blood sugar was fine but I was very nauseated and dehydrated. Got pumped with like 2 liters? of fluid.
I've made a slow move to soft foods after like 5 days of clear and full liquids. I'm going to eat one soft solid meal per day . I had mashed potatoes successfully today (I'm so proud of myself for even dosing the insulin right for that), might try oatmeal or noodles cooked to the point of mush in broth tomorrow. I am aware some people go back to their regular diet immediately after but I rather take it slow as my body has suffered a lot with the pancreatitis and I think I still have high pancreatic enzymes based on my er trip on Friday morning. I'm still on my reduced lantus dose of 5 units. If I can go back to just regular food I might slowly bring that up but idk my blood sugar has been a lot lower lately.
