My gallbladder. failed me too

I’m currently hospitalized waiting for surgery to remove my gallbladder. It sucks. They don’t understand my insulin to carb ratio. I’m also npo, can’t eat anything and drinking is questionable. I hate this.

I feel your pain. The hospital does a poor job with diabetics. They kept telling me better high than low. Better for who? Hang in there. I know you will feel better without that gallbladder!!

Get well soon! And keep yourself safe.

You'll be feeling a lot better in a few weeks. But you might want to watch your diet carefully once you're eating again- I found fat difficult to process for a number of months after the surgery; maybe the body trying to figure out what to do with the bile that used to be stored in the gallbladder.

Best wishes for health from your sister-in-dysfunctional organs.

hi SENSORIUM haven't seen you lately hope you feel better soon had surgery 4 times years ago & did fine so don't worry

hugs

Sorry you're going through this, I hope the surgery goes well and that you feel better soon!

You will be feeling better soon! Watching your fat intake for a while is a great tip. Also, I found it hard to sit up for long periods post surgery. My five year old at the time of my surgery kept wondering why I was on the sofa so much!

Heads up on the gas pain that rises to your shoulder! Moving around while you are in the hospital is helpful for that symptom.

I was on a business trip when they removed my non-functioning gall bladder. It was infected. Stand your ground. Patients have rights, but just be nice about it. Check your chart. I found lots of errors ( e.g. they tried to feed me a full meal after surgery. I asked for broth and jello. Nurses insisted I eat. Dietician came up. Said the doctor said I could eat regular food. I asked to see the chart and the doctor wrote, “progress to solid foods.”). I got my broth and jello!
