I've decided that blogging again might make my road to recovery a little easier. It provides me with an outlet to express my thoughts, so I started a brand new blog.
Today, I decided to go public with my battle because I think it's important that other diabetics going through the same battle as me know that they aren't alone, and I also think it's important for our supporters to know the real sides to the beets.
I want to test it out on tu because I feel safe here. If it goes over well, I want to post it for my friends and family to see. My hope is that it goes far and that my stories will resonate with people and help them. I want to be an advocate for this disease, I don't want it to knock me down anymore.
i like your post! i think blogging is a great way to vent. i am having a CRAPPY time dealing lately. we are all together in this! good luck with everything...always here to talk :)
i wish i could give you a big hug! sharing always lighten our load, so keep sharing let us how you are doing. i love the one minute at a time, this is all we can really focus on anyways, live in the moment one healthy decision at a time and be kind when you miss the mark with your insulin dosing or with the foods you choose, you are human and diabetes is hard! fight back girl with all you have, you are stronger than you know. do you exercise? this can be a huge allay with your struggles, nothing crazy but more mindful pursuits that will encourage your soul development, like walking, esp in nature or practicing yoga. just a suggestion. you are so much more than your diabetes, deal with what you need to, you know the ropes, but celebrate the rest of you!!! we are here. blessings to you, amy
Hello Erin! I just read your blog and found myself smiling and bobbing my head in agreement! What courage you have...very inspirational. Thank you for bringing a very well hidden problem to light...so many will benefit from your sharing. We will all live "one minute at a time" with you...big hugs your way!
Thank you, everyone, for your kind words! I'm continuing to post over at beetsaware.blogspot.com. It's really helping me to get my thoughts out and everyone's comments are a positive reinforcement. I hope I can shed light on the emotional downside to diabetes. Thanks again!
