Infusion set comparative review

When I starter pumping a couple of weeks ago with my Medtronic Minimed 522, I was offered two choices for my infusion sets, including the Silhouette and The Quickset. I wasn’t particularly attracted to a manual insertion of the gigantic needle, so I settled for the Quickset infusion sets.

Now I’ve decided to compare a few different sets to see which one I like.

Does anyone have any suggestions of sets to try?

omg the silhouette for sure, the manual inset means less kinkage, less wasting money if it doesn’t go in right, and more chances of better absorption and less cannula kinkages haha. The quick set scared the bejeebus out of me. but everyone is different! you may enjoy the quickset more, and it may work for you. Im not a very meaty person haha i’m quite thin so different body types may gravitate towards certain kinds of sets. But from experience, the feeling of the quickset going straight into my muscle opposed to going on the side with the silhouette, wasn’t a very enjoyable experience haha, it hurt a whole bunch!

I use the inserter called Sil-serter with the Silhouettes from MM

They actually stay put. Quicksets have never worked for me.
