Infusion set THROUGH an IV dressing?

Hey,

I was just watching a youtube video showing a new (to me) minimed compatible reservoir and infusion set, and the girl in question fired the set into her through an already placed IV dressing.

Does anyone know what advantages there are to doing things this way? I've only ever put them on top of my glucose sensor as a holding method. Never underneath the set.

Rob.

Oh, here:

The sets seem to rival the newer mio sets from minimed, and run pre-insurance, about 32 dollars cheaper per box of 10.

Some individuals place a IV3000 down and stick their infusion set on top, usually because
they have allergy/issues with the adhesive on the infusion set. I use IV prep for protection.
