Someone tell me something about the MIO infusion set from MM!

OK Folks I’ve been on a pump for 23 years now but last night I (finally) figured out that the Sure T’s were making my body talk back to me. I was getting an infection from the needle that was on the end of it. The steele needle I’m talking about. sooooooooo the guy I talked to last night overnighted me some (what I call new anyway) new MIO sets with a plastic needle at the end of them. They had me LOST about even so much as how to open them (remember I come from the old school here) Called MM like the guy said last night to apply the set. OK this new guy I talked to has me more confused about it Let’s start over here someone out there tell me how you apply it to your pump and how you use it. The guy I was talking to walked me through the whole thing (even pulling up the insulin. I already had that done and all the stuff to start it up infront of me.) I just wanted to know how to apply it! SHEZ!!! LETS TRY AGAIN!

Here is the MM demo for the Mio.

It takes a while to get through it but it does seem fairly clear to me. You can also google Mio insertion and get a couple of videos.
I tried the Mio and it was too frustrating for me. I suggest you ask MM for a couple of samples of all their infusion set options. I am now using both the SofSet and the Silhouette. One is 90 degree and the second one is at an angle. Some like the Quickset but it is not for me. Good luck.

THANK YOU!!! Yes it is totally flustrating but thanks to you I know have somewhere that SHOWS ME not TELLS ME what to do! I have tried all kinds of infusion sets and right now (the bent needle and the 9mm are out thanks to scar tissue and 23 years of pumping. It happens BELIVE ME!!! no matter how much care you take to do things right) Miolooks like my only option. We’ll see.

MIO is very easy to use after you get used to how to insert. Our numbers got better when she first switched. My 10 yo really loved them after switching from Sure T and said they did not hurt like Sure T did when she inserted. But we had A LOT of bad sites with the MIO due to the cannula bending or kinking. I don’t know if it was related to scar tissue (she will only wear on tummy) or her activity level - she is a competitive athlete and works out a lot and has almost no body fat.
