Insulin Infusion sites - arm

I am new to pumping - about a month and a half. Have tried 2 arm sites so far- and the first was a miserable fail - should have taken it out after it started hurting - but left it in for 2 days and wound up with a huge red circle on my arm (most of it out past the adhesive - so not from the adhesive - and most area under the adhesive clear) and a huge lump (which is still there by the way from over 2 weeks ago). I used a 9 mm Quickset then (prolly too big). I am not sure if I got the reaction from the depth of the cannula versus where I placed it -I placed it where I would have normally injected with a pen, but not on the complete flabby part of the arm (or the bus driver fold as I say that hangs down - the flappy part that flaps when a bus driver has the arm on the door handle to let the kids out :)). Any ideas? Am I putting it in the wrong place on my arm? I will try to attach a picture to ahow what happened. I put one in today - and while I feel it - it is not painful. Don’t know - maybe I am not putting it in the right spot. THanks for your input.

PS - I am now using the 6mm Mio sets on the arm sites (and sites away from the belly - use Silhouettes there).

Any ideas? Thanks!!!

I just recently started putting sites in my arm. I have found I can’t put them in the front or the side but do find them comfortable in the back. I have a hard time reaching around and putting the sites in and have to get help sometimes but find it’s worth it. Oh and I use the9mm quick sets.

Why do you want to use your arm? I have never use anyplace but the stomach area since its painless and all the tube are hidden there.

I started using the 6mm sets and the issue resolved, I think. I use the flabby part of the arm - where I would do an injection. I run the tubing up the arm and under my bra strap and down my belly where I wear my pump on my pants.A short sleeve tee covers the sites. I also place sets in my thighs and flanks/lovehandles.
