I’ve known for a while that eating protein, fat, and vegetables before carbs will slow down post meal BGs. For me, limiting carbs althogether has a much more dramatic effect.
Just asking people to change the order of the various foods they eat seems like an easy thing to do. It never ceases to amaze me, however, how tenatiously most people will hang on to their way of eating, even if a change will materially benefit their health. It took me a year or two to try a low carb way of eating! Once I tried it, I never looked back.
While hardening of the arteries is serious, hardening of the attitude can be deadly.
I agree about hardening of the attitude–I struggle with sustaining a low carb way of eating, but I’ll give this order thing a shot–couldn’t hurt.
