I have been pumping for 16 years. I have always tried to use good site rotation. Always used my abdomen and as far around as I could reach. Never had good luck with my legs, even when on MDI. Too lean I think. I use my arms for my Dexcom. Anyway, the last 4-5 months, I have had a lot of early failures with my infusion sets. They don’t always last three days, but will suddenly quit. Also have had more “bleeders” when I remove the sets. Would love to hear input from others with insight to this problem.
I’ve had similar experiences. I took a pump vacation two years ago and then went back on the pump. I recently switched back to shots because of bad infusion sites, etc. It’s been almost a month now and I don’t plan on going back on my pump anytime soon.
One or the reasons I bailed on CGM as it used up insertion site real estate, lol. was having issues with rotating to 4 sites, added 4 more into rotation total of eight and it has gotten much better.
Have you tried to put your sets on your back? Or your bum? I am also lean and never had problems there. But if you feel like a pump vacation would do it, then go for it! There are plenty of ppl out there with great control on MDI😊
Good luck!
Went off pump after 15 years a couple months back and don’t plan on going back. Nothing wrong with pumping, just wanted the unattached feel. Loving it.
