My pump is SO loud I dont really want it beeping or buzzing at me. Is there anyway to silence it? I've flipped though all the settings and cant seem to find one to turn all the buzzing and beeping off. It seems to be vibrating louder than usual.
I don't know if the Minimed is different, Christy, but with the Ping I can set several different things to alarm or not. The only alarm I have set is when I'm down to 10 units in my cartridge. Have you checked your manual? The Ping manual has a whole table of what the possible settings.
I think the MM has an "emergency" angle and will not STFU when it's an emergency. It's the main reason I set my "low" alarm to 60 as a lot of times, I can sort of coast through in the 60s without going lower but the alarm thing freaks out and bleeps louder and louder until I shut it up. The main problem is at night but there's been a few times where I'm running w/ headphones on and it will freak out and I won't notice but get wierd looks from the people I run by because it's going bonkers.
Hahaha yes I've turned MOST of the alarms off cause it just annoyms me the constant beeping and vibrating, I check it pretty constantly throughtout the day, anyway but I agree you ignore it for too long lol and it WONT STFU. hahaha I usually have mine on vibrate, but the vibrate has gotten louder.
I've had mine go nutso a couple of times while grocery shopping, when you've started a new CGM and like I've got 2 hours to kill I can get my shooping done, hahaha never fails stupid thing starts buzzing at you, time to Meter BG NOW...well Im in the dang checkout line its NOT REALLY CONVENINET at the moment, lol. It does NOT like to be ignored for long. LOL
Zoe yeah I've checked the manual and I could have sworn I saw a way of putting the alarms on silent, but it didnt seem to work for mine. I think there manual is a little "off" at times. But like you I've turned most of mine off anyway. It's the only way I could get it to shut up most of the time. I really wish I could turn the vibrate off as well, but I guess they need some kind of safety feature to be present.
You can silence the CGM alerts on the new Revel X23 pumps, High/Low BG alerts for up to 24 hours.
