I know with the Animas Ping pump, you can change the initial notification for alerts/alarms/notifications with the ezManager software. Does anyone know if you can make it a regular beep instead of a tune? I choose not to leave it on vibrate as it drains the battery quicker but also do not like the tunes!
Under settings, and sounds there is the option to change the tones and duration for each type of alert and alarm. I set all of mine (when I used the ping) to medium alert tones and it helped the battery immensely. Also using lithium batteries helps on life a great deal as well. On average, a alkalyn AA battery lasted about 3-4 weeks with my settings adjusted like that.
Is the medium alert tone a beep like sound or a song like tune?
Its a single beep that is sustained for about 1 second. Its not a tone by any stretch of the imagination.
When I go to sound under set up, all I can change is off, vib, L, M or H for 3 types of bolus, temp basal, alert, reminder, warning or alarm. I don’t see where I can change the tune. Am I missing something? (Forgive me if it’s something very simple … I never got trained)
No, actually your right. I checked on my Ping at the house and realized what you were asking and what I recommended were 2 different things. Let me see what i can find out. Sorry for the mis information there.
No apologies! I just wasn’t sure if I was missing something right under my nose. I know that you can use the software to change it but didn’t know if there was a way other than that. I appreciate your help 
I have a call into my Animas guy that helps me out from time to time, to see what I can find out. I will post here if i find out anything useful that may help.

Yeah the cust service number isnt always the best route. Not that they ever failed me in any form or fashion.
