Juicing

I have been thinking of starting juicing, but with the price of fruits and veggies are having me concerned, I’m wondering if using frozen foods, (fruits and veggies) will work also. I want to eat healthier and what I can to loose weight and and feeling better.

I’m also wondering, those of you doing it, is it worth it? What have you done and how do you feel after doing this? What do you use? Do you use a blender, a juicier? I have looked around and priced and did consumer reports and lost in what I have read. What have you found to be the best ones out there to juice?

I live in ND, so our fruit / veggies are sometimes expensive, and wondering if using frozen veggies / fruit will have the same effect.

Thanks for your time.

Why not just eat the fruits and veggies whole?

I believe that frozen is just as good as fresh. They usually pick the fruit at peak ripeness and then freeze immediately. When I make fruit for my babies or for smoothies we always use frozen. Unless I can find a good price on fresh. But normally I use frozen. I use a vitamix. I love it, however we have had problems with ours, I wonder if we jsut got a lemon, but we have had it for going on 3 yrs now I think and I always use it for baby food, and we use it to make smoothies. also you can make soup and all sorts of fresh stuff in it.

i have juiced in the past and i think it is wonderful. I love carrot juice cold and first thing in the morning. Plus you can get all your vegs and fruit in one drink and not have to worry if you had your daily allowance of fruit or vegs for that day. As for the expense - yes they are expensive but i guess i have to look at it as something that is going to benefit my body and just cut out other expenses that are not a need. I have been looking for a juicer but haven’t found one that i like … but i’ll keep looking. I’ve never tried juicing frozen vegs or fruits. Just a thought - I think if you are going to do frozen you probably need a strong motor because as you know frozen food is very hard so it might dull the blades after a while … good luck and if i find a juicer i’ll let you know …

I bet the lady thought you were nuts! A male playing around with their juicers!!! I wish I could have been there to see it.

I, myself, am now a proud owner of not one, but TWO (yes two) Magic Bullets. I responded to a TV ad and the 2nd one was a freebie (so to speak) except for shipping & handling and an extended warranty. It comes with all sorts of extras too. I have offered it to two others that I know but, if they don’t want it, I will be trying to sell it. I just can’t see keeping two of them, especially at the price I paid for the one!!! AND especially in view of my pension payment being cut with the May payment.

I want to try juicing things myself. I don’t know about veggies, but I will try at least once. Wish me LUCK!!!
